We believe...

God is, and he made the universe and all that is within it.

Men and women are created in God’s image, but that image has been marred by sin. Sin has alienated us from God. Consequently, we are lost and broken, and we need rescuing.

Thankfully, though we deserved judgement and justice, God had a different plan. Because God is a doting Father with infinite love and compassion, he came down as one of us in the person Jesus.

During his life, Jesus lived a perfect life. He died the most horrible death. He resurrected, conquering that most implacable of human enemies.

Through all this, Jesus paid for our sins at infinite cost to himself. For us, he made salvation easy. We become children of God simply by trusting on Jesus’s work on our behalf.

This is the gospel, and there is no other message like it in the world. Jesus saves us first, then he calls us to become the salt and light. We do not earn his favor.

And he promises, as we partner with him in the redemption, restoration and renewal of the world, he will be with us through the Holy Spirit. It is through the Spirit that we are guided and clothed with the power necessary to accomplish God’s gracious and loving will.

In the end, when Christ returns, those who trust in him will rise to eternal life. The cross proves this promise is based in love; the resurrection proves he has the power to follow through on this promise.

This is the message Christians are to share in word and in deed to the ends of the earth.
